During the peak period from December 1, 2025, to February 28, 2026, border guard units successfully handled 5,690 cases involving 6,996 individuals. Regarding drug-related crimes, the force led 162 cases with 199 suspects, seizing over 164kg of narcotics. They also coordinated in 78 cases involving 146 individuals, confiscating 41kg of drugs and 49 tons of caffeine used for synthetic drug production. In the fight against smuggling and trade fraud, authorities handled 341 cases with 471 individuals, seizing goods worth nearly VND 59.3 billion. Furthermore, officials detected and processed 3,714 cases involving 4,449 individuals for illegal entry and exit.

Addressing the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son requested the Vietnam Border Guard to continue implementing Party and State directives, along with instructions from the Government, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense on military tasks and force building. He stressed the importance of strengthening the all-people border defense posture in conjunction with a firm people-based security posture.

He also urged the force to enhance forecasting and assessment, advising the Party, State, and authorities on effective crime prevention. Additionally, he called for close coordination with relevant forces to manage borders while tackling organized and transnational crimes.
