After conducting a direct inspection and listening to reports delivered by the academy’s leaders, Gen. Giang highly praised the academy’s achievements gained over the past 62 years of development. He spoke highly of the unity and determination to fulfill all routine and unscheduled tasks of the school’s Party Committee, Board of Directors, and leaderships at all levels despite numerous difficulties.

The defense chief underlined that wherever there are difficulties, the border guard force is present. He commended the academy for placing great importance on training and educating its cadets to deeply understand that the border post is home, the border area is homeland, and the ethnic people are border guards’ family members.
Given the rapid, complex, and unpredictable developments in the global and regional situation, in order to improve the quality of human resources and meet the task requirement of military building and Fatherland protection in the new situation, Gen. Giang asked the academy’s Party Committee and leadership to continue realizing higher levels’ documents on military and defense missions, education and training work, and the establishment of the border guard command under the provincial military command.

He instructed them to promptly research, adjust, and develop new training programs and content aligned with new organizational structure and missions of the border guard forces and realities.
Regarding the training program, he noted that the academy must focus on enhancing its cadets’ political stance, ethical qualities, knowledge of state management, economy, society, law, command of foreign and ethnic minority languages, IT application, digital transformation, and other necessary skills. He also stressed higher expertise and practical knowledge for the academy’s instructors and educational managers.

The defense minister requested the academy to ensure logistics, technical and financial supplies for task implementation, practice thrift, build a comprehensively-strong, exemplary and typical school with a standard military pedagogical cultural environment and renovation, among others.
