According to a report delivered at the meeting, in the first half of this year, the Dien Bien Provincial Border Guard Command effectively safeguarded national sovereignty, territorial integrity, border markers, border infrastructure, and border gates, while ensuring full compliance with border agreements and regulations.

The unit maintained a high state of combat readiness and implemented combat training plans in accordance with approved programs and schedules.
Political education and ideological management were strengthened, helping enhance service members' awareness of and compliance with military discipline and the law. Attentively, the command rigorously carried out training, force-regularity building, and discipline management. It also pro-actively implemented measures for disaster prevention and control, search and rescue operations, and emergency response. Its officers and soldiers stayed ready to undertake and successfully accomplish all assigned missions.
In his speech, Gen. Kien acknowledged the unit's efforts and achievements. To further enhance its role in safeguarding national sovereignty and border security in its assigned area, he directed the Dien Bien Provincial Border Guard Command to focus on effectively implementing key tasks in the coming period.

On the same day, the delegation paid a courtesy call on the leadership of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee. Gen. Kien briefed provincial leaders on several notable achievements of the Border Guard force and affirmed that the Vietnam Border Guard, particularly the Dien Bien Provincial Border Guard, would continue to perform its functions effectively while working closely with local Party committees and authorities to promote socio-economic development and strengthen national defense and security in the province.

Earlier that morning, the delegation inspected Thanh Luong Border Post during which the Vietnam Border Guard Commander commended the unit for its performance, noting its close engagement with local communities, strong bonds with the people, and effective protection of national sovereignty while contributing to security and public order in border areas.
He spoke highly of the unit’s close collaboration with local authorities to raise public awareness of border protection, encourage locals to safeguard border markers, strengthen grassroots political systems and build a firm whole people’s border defense posture as well as foster solidarity and friendship across the border.
Gen. Kien asked the unit to continue striving to serve as a “cultural bright spot” in border areas.
During the visit, the delegation and accompanying units also visited, encouraged, and presented gifts to sick and wounded soldiers, veterans, national contributors in Thanh Nua commune, Dien Bien province. They offered incense in tribute to fallen soldiers at the Temple dedicated to martyrs of the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield and at the A1 National War Cemetery.
