In the coming time, Gen. Pham Hoai Nam urged the GDDI to thoroughly direct and strictly implement the Party's and State's resolutions and directives, as well as those of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, on the development of the defense industry, especially Resolution No.08-NQ/TW of the Politburo issued on January 26, 2022 on promoting the development of the defense industry sector until 2030 and the following years. The GDDI needs to proactively implement projects and plans on defense industry development; coordinate with relevant agencies to continously prepare content of the Law on Defense, Security Industries, and Industrial Mobilization to report to the National Assembly, and research weapons and equipment to meet the needs of the armed forces. Additionally, the general department should combine defense industry development with the strategies for socio-economic development, he stressed.
