The defense chief’s request was made at a conference held on July 10 in Hanoi by the Standing Board of the CMC to review and contribute opinions to the draft documents for the congress of the 2025-2030 tenure.

Under Gen. Giang’s request, the refined draft documents must be submitted to the competent authorities according to schedule and with high quality.

According to a report delivered by the GDP’s Deputy Chief Lieutenant General Do Xuan Tung, Party congresses of agencies and units in the military have been organized in accordance with schedules, procedures, and principles, reaping positive outcomes. Attentively, most key candidates elected to executive boards of Party committees, as secretaries, deputy secretaries, and delegates to higher-level party congresses received high votes of confidence.

In addition, opinions on the draft documents of the 14th National Party Congress and the draft Political Report to be presented at the 12th Military Party Congress were collected. Especially, the draft Political Report has achieved a high degree of consensus in terms of structure, content, and expression.

An overview of the conference

In his speech, Gen. Giang highly praised the GDP for its pro-active and effective coordination with relevant agencies and units in preparing the draft Political Report in a timely and high quality manner. He expressed strong agreement with the 12th Military Party Congress’s theme and motto.

He directed the drafting team to collect delegates’ opinions, and further emphasize assessments of the global, regional, and domestic situations. He also laid stress on the clarification of the leadership results, and the development of the militia and self-defense forces, as well as the outcomes of the search and collection of remains of martyrs.
