Especially in recent times, the general department has been developing strongly and made many exceptional achievements, effectively serving the high-level foreign relations activities of the Party, State, and armed forces. This has contributed to enhancing Vietnam's international reputation and position.

Recognizing these important contribution, the Party and State have awarded the First-Class Feat-of-Arms Order to General Department 2 and its Director. Additionally, certain collectives and individuals under General Department 2 have received commendations from the Prime Minister.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Vo Van Thuong congratulated and praised the achievements that the officials, employees, and soldiers of General Department 2 have made in the past period. The President affirmed that the unit always adheres to and strictly implements the instructions of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on its important political tasks. To continue the glorious tradition, worth of its special and important position, and to fulfill the tasks entrusted by the Party, State, armed forces, and people, the President requested that under any circumstances, General Department 2 must always adhere to the absolute leadership of the Party, directly under the Party Central Committee in all aspects related to its tasks. They should regularly maintain close ties with the people, enhance the leadership capacity and combat readiness of Party organizations, and pay attention to building a team of capable officials and party members who are equal to the tasks. It is crucial for them to grasp and skillfully apply the Party's viewpoints and principles in carrying out their duties.
