Troops stamp out forest fire
PANO – Two hundred troops of Regiment 3 under Division 324 of Military Region 4 successfully stamped out a forest fire in Thanh Hoa province on February 24.

Earlier, the fire broke out in Lien Chau hamlet of Trieu Son district’s Hop Thang commune and spread quickly due to dry weather and strong winds.
Being informed of the blaze, Regiment 3 sent a mission of 200 troops, led by Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the regiment, to cooperate with local forces to extinguish the fire.
The firefighting forces had to mobilize vehicles and specialized equipment and try their best to extinguish the fire within an hour.
According to Deputy Chairman of the People’s Committee of Trieu Son district Le Phu Quoc, it is estimated that more than one hectare of the forest was burned.
