Speaking at the event, General Nguyen Tan Cuong stressed that the gathering, held on the occasion of the General Staff’s Foundation Day, was of profound significance. It helped foster solidarity among generations of officers, instill pride in the General Staff’s glorious traditions and achievements, and encourage its cadres, officers, and soldiers to uphold traditions, overcome difficulties, and fulfill all assigned tasks.

General Nguyen Tan Cuong also briefed the delegates on key global, regional, and domestic developments; major outcomes in military and defense work; the results of Party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress; activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of the General Staff’s Foundation Day; and the unit’s key tasks in the coming time.
The Chief of the General Staff underscored that, in the future, the General Staff will continue focusing on research, forecasting, and accurate assessment of situations to provide timely advice to the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense. It will maintain vigilance, handle emerging circumstances effectively, study modern operational concepts for application in training and exercises, coordinate closely with other forces to safeguard political security and social order, and actively engage in disaster prevention, response, and search and rescue operations.

On behalf of the General Staff’s leadership, General Nguyen Tan Cuong expressed deep gratitude to generations of officers and soldiers of the General Staff, who have dedicated their lives and made sacrifices for national independence, reunification, and the building of the VPA and the General Staff.
