PANO – Technical units should focus on raising the quality of preserving and maintaining weapons and technical equipment and consider it one of their combat readiness missions.
The request was made by Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army cum Deputy Minister of National Defence during the working session with technical units of the General Department of Techniques on August 28th.

Having been briefed on the units’ results of carrying out tasks since early this year, general Ty praised their achievements in preserving weapons and technical equipment and maintaining disciplines and regulations.
The Chief of the General Staff stressed the importance of technical service in both wartime and peacetime and asked the units’ cadres and workers to thoroughly grasp the Central Military Commission’ and Defence Ministry’s Instructions and Resolutions on defence, military and technical work and to raise their skills and professionalism.
Earlier, the Deputy Defence Minister had inspected the preservation and maintenance work at depots J250, K888, and KT580. He inquired after the units’ cadres, staff and workers and encouraged them to overcome difficulties to fulfil assigned tasks.
