Over the past time, the institute’s staff have overcome numerous difficulties and hardships to thoroughly grasp the pandemic situation and then make timely recommendations to higher levels to take preventive measures against the pandemics.

The institute closely coordinated with other military units to spray disinfectants and transport medical supplies and equipment to ensure soldiers’ healthcare, contributing to the liberation of the South, the reunification of the country, and the performance of international duties in Cambodia.

During the renovation period, the institute well accomplished all assigned missions. Especially in 2021, amid the COVID-19 outbreaks in Ho Chi Minh City and Southern provinces, the institute actively carried out research, collected national and international information related to the pandemic and gave advice to higher levels to impose effectively preventive measures, ensuring the safety for soldiers and people.

With its outstanding achievements, the State President has decided to present the third-class Fatherland Protection Order to the Southern Military Institute for Preventive Medicine.

Authorized by the State President, Major General Nguyen Nhat Tan, Deputy Director of the General Department of Logistics, granted the third-class Fatherland Protection Order to the institute.
