The Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, and the Ministry of Information and Communications have cooperated in building a national database of martyrs, linked to specific geographical areas. So far, the entire nation has reviewed 920,601 records of martyrs associated with units and locally managed areas, of which 797,251 records and lists contain information about their initial burial sites.
To continue fulfilling their mission effectively in the near future, Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong urged units and localities to raise awareness of the importance of searching for and collecting martyrs’ remains. Agencies and units should enhance the effectiveness of their information dissemination and mobilize organizations and individuals to provide information about martyrs and their graves. Furthermore, they should intensify the use of information technology in the process of completing records and lists of martyrs and creating maps for martyrs’ remains.
