A representative from the Staff of the Vietnam Border Guard Command reported that relevant border guard units have been rehearsing scenarios, developing coordination and security plans, and making other preparations on the locations, protocols, among others in a thorough manner.
Attentively, according to the newly-adjusted plan, this exchange will have a gala in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange (2014 - 2024), raising the number of key activities during the exchange to 10. Among the 10 major activities held in China during the event, there will be a visit to a primary school located in the shared border areas and an artistic program after talks.

Addressing the meeting, Gen. Thai hailed relevant agencies and units for their active preparation for the exchange. He asked them to review their duties, closely work with functional agencies under the Ministry of National Defense and host localities of the event to practice, thoroughly prepare, and ensure absolute safety and security for activities in the framework of the exchange.
The chief of the Vietnamese border guard force emphasized that the exchange is an important political event with great meaning, helping strengthen the relations, cooperative ties between the two militaries, local authorities and peoples. He asked functional agencies of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command to continue to check all preparation to ensure the exchange a success.
The eighth edition of the exchange is an important external activity of the two defense ministries in 2024. This exchange will contribute to enhancing friendship and solidarity, promote substantive cooperation between the border protection forces of the two countries, authorities of the host localities, and people in border areas, helping build the Vietnam - China border of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation and development.
The exchange is also to realize the Vietnam - China joint declaration to continue deepening and upgrading the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, building a community with shared future that carries strategic significance, which was reached at the State visit to Vietnam by Party General Secretary and State President of China Xi Jinping last December.
