Outstanding military grassroots trade union presidents honored
PANO - The General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army honored 90 excellent grassroots trade union presidents in the army in the 2013-2018 period at a ceremony held on May 22 evening in Hanoi.
The honored are role models in an emulation movement of the Military Trade Union. They have actively contributed to their units’ and workers’ good outcomes at work and production, workers’ ensured jobs and incomes. With their creative activity models, workers’ living and working conditions have improved. Besides, they are those who fight for legitimate rights and interests of trade union members and workers.
Acknowledging and applauding achievements gained by the honored and military trade union organizations over the past time, Lieutenant General Le Hien Van, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics, affirmed that the honored are really role models and representatives of the Military Trade Union’s emulation movement. Though working in different fields, they are all in common in firm political mettle, being wholehearted at work, high sense of responsibility, surmounting difficulties to excellently fulfil all assigned missions, making active contributions to their units’ and the army’s accomplishments and to assured role of the working class in the current period as well as to the brightened image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers.
In a hope that the grassroots trade union presidents and trade union cadres in the whole army will exert more efforts to meet their missions, General Van asked military trade union organizations to focus on renovating their operations’ contents and forms, promoting information dissemination and political, ideological, moral and lifestyle education to trade union’s members and workers.
General Van also requested Party committees, chains-of-command and political departments at all levels to pay attention to nurturing and strengthening a body of virtuous, enthusiastic and capable trade union cadres and presidents.
The honored trade union presidents were asked to bring into full play their achievements and share experiences with others while improving their expertise, actively overcoming difficulties to meet all assigned tasks, and at the ceremony, they were presented with certificates declaring that they are outstanding grassroots trade union presidents by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and merit certificates by the General Department of Politics. Moreover, ten needy trade union members received financial support to build houses.
