Also present at the event, held by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee and the Vietnam Young Talent Assistance Foundation, was First Secretary of the HCYU Central Committee Le Quoc Phong.

The winners, selected from 135 nominees, were honored for their outstanding achievements in academia, production, culture and arts, defense, security and safety, sports, scientific research, start-up businesses and social activities.

Addressing the event, PM Phuc hailed the achievements of the awardees and underlined that they are bright examples for the younger generations to follow.

Over the past 22 years, the award has helped bolster and cultivate young talents, boost emulation movements among the youth and draw the whole society into educating the younger generations, he said.

PM Phuc affirmed that the Party, State, and Government continuously attach importance to developing talents, especially those of the younth. A number of priority policies has been carried out, whereby many young talents have developed and made considerable contributions to the national construction and defense cause.

In the current context, the PM hoped that young people have to ceaselessly raise their morality and competencies to contribute to the development of the country, especially when Vietnam is entering the fourth industrial revolution.

Additionally, he asked HCYU and other functional agencies to further discover, bring up, and foster young talents.

Apart from presenting the Vietnam Outstanding Young Face Award to 10 young faces, the organization panel also granted certificates to ten other contestants of the Potential Youth Face Award.
