Having praised the efforts of the Naval Service and relevant units in building the draft plan, General Giang stressed that these events will be important military-defense activities in Vietnam’s 2020 ASEAN Chairmanship. Therefore, he urged the service to actively complete the plans as scheduled, contributing to successfully fulfilling its assigned tasks.

In addition, the Chief of the General Staff noted that the service should closely follow the complicated developments of the 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), build plans to control the disease, and ensure safety for international guests when participating in the military-defense activities.

According to the draft plan of the Naval Service, there will be an international fleet review, a military street parade, international conferences, courtesy visits, cultural exchange programs, and trips to tourism attractions. These events will take place at the beginning of May in Nha Trang city with the participation of 30 countries. Notably, 19 countries will send naval ships to the international fleet review.
