According to reports delivered at the congress, since 2014, the Party organizations and chains-of-command of organs under the GDP have comprehensively conducted the emulation-reward work and the “Determined to win” emulation movement.

Particularly, emulation drives have contributed to promoting the leadership of the Party in the military while also building a politically-, ideologically-, and organizationally-strong military. The emulation drives have also improved the overall quality and combat strength of the military.

In addition, through the “Determined to win” emulation movement, units have promoted the quality of military training, regularity building, and disciplinary observance, while ensuring logistic, financial, and technical services for task implementation.

Over the past five years, a number of individuals and organizations from the organs of the GDP were honored with various kinds of noble orders and merit certificates.

In his speech, on behalf of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and leadership of the Defense Ministry and the GDP, General Cuong hailed the GDP’s organs’ task performance in the “Determined to win” emulation movement.

He underlined that the GDP’s organs should embrace President Ho Chi Minh's ideology on patriotic emulation, implement resolutions and directives from higher levels, and improve troops’ and military personnel’s awareness of emulation activities.

The GDP’s Director requested them to combine emulation drives with the implementation of other major documents, including Resolution No.4 of the 12th National Party Congress on Party building, Directive No.5 of the Politburo and Directive No.87 of the CMC’s Standing Committee on promoting the campaign “Learning and following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example,” and the movement “Promoting glorious tradition, devoting talent, deserving to be Uncle Ho's Soldiers.”

In addition, they were asked to promptly discover, honor, and multiply good examples and build specific plans to improve  the emulation movement in the next period.

At the event, General Cuong handed over merit certificates to dozens of individuals and groups of the GDP’s organs for their outstanding achievements in response to the “Determined to Win” emulation movement in the 2014-2019 period.

On the same day, delegates participating in the congress reported their accomplishments as a way to pay respects to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum in Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi.
