Defense leader inspects preparations for reception of foreign parade troops
PANO - On July 17, a mission led by Deputy Defense Minister Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Truong Thang inspected the preparations for welcoming military personnel from foreign countries, who will take part in the upcoming parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).
Gen. Thang and his entourage toured Viettel Academy and other accommodation facilities planned for foreign parade troops.

They also listened to reports presented by relevant agencies and units on logistics provision, accommodation, and training for foreign parade troops, as well as advantages and difficulties in preparing for the reception.
Speaking at the working session after the inspection, Gen. Thang underlined the importance of the anniversary and Vietnam’s invitation to countries to send troops to participate in the parade.

He acknowledged the pro-activeness and sense of responsibility of agencies and units in charge of the reception.

Based on the results of the fact-finding tour, Gen. Thang asked agencies, units and other relevant forces to be aware of their assignments, raise sense of accountability, promptly develop and implement reception plans in a thorough manner. He requested them to pay attention to infrastructure, accommodation, training grounds, and means of transport, security and safety, healthcare, food safety for the foreign parade troops. Thoughtful reception would leave good impressions of the country, its people and military on the guests.
