Lt. Gen. Ha Tho Binh and Chairman of Ha Tinh provincial People’s Committee Vo Trong Hai asked the steering board on disaster prevention and control and search and rescue at all levels in the district to keep a close watch on the storm developments.

The MR4 Commander requested affiliated military units to keep personnel and vehicles on stand-by to take missions at request. In addition, they should manage fishing vessels, check and give instructions to them to move to safe shelter places.

Earlier the same day, the mission visited Cam Duong commune, Cam Xuyen district whose 36 houses’ roofs in Rang Dong, Hoang Van and Trung Dong village were blown off by a whirlwind on the previous day. 17 out of these 36 households suffered severe damage.

The leader of Military Region 4 and Ha Tinh province inquired after the disaster-hit families and hoped that they would overcome difficulties to stabilize their lives soon. They requested military, public security, border guard and militia forces to coordinate with local party committees and authorities to repair the houses.

In response to the developments of the fourth storm which is about to hit Central localities, including Ha Tinh province, Gen. Binh requested the provincial Military Command to direct its affiliates to carefully survey key areas at risk of damage due to storms and floods to give recommendations to the local Party committees and authorities, and closely coordinate with departments and organizations to evacuate locals to safer places. Moreover, they should continue to notify ships and boats to take refugee, evacuate people in possible dangerous and flooded areas in order to minimize the storm’s impacts on people and property.
