Under the direction of the Party Central Committee on the celebration of major events in 2024, including activities to mark the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, since the beginning of this year, the Ministry of National Defense (MND) and the Ministry of Public Security established the steering committee for organizing the celebration and the sub-committee for parade.

The inspection aimed to evaluate the result of joint parade training and review the coordination of participating forces, creating a basis for the units to continue conducting training activities for their forces to ensure the success of the upcoming parade and complete all assigned tasks.

In his remarks, Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Tan Cuong lauded the steering committee and the sub-committee for parade for close and synchronous task implementation, and good preparation for accommodation and food safety for the participating troops.

The agencies and units have effectively implemented education work to help their troops be fully aware of the significance, stature and historical values of Dien Bien Phu Victory and their honor and great responsibility of joining the parade. Therefore, the troops have heightened their determination to overcome difficulties and practice hard to meet the task requirements.

The GS chief also praised the great efforts of the participating forces in joint training for the upcoming parade in Dien Bien Phu city, requiring them to show their highest sense of responsibility in training, strictly observe regulations, and actively train to master their movements.

Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Tan Cuong noted that the sub-committee for the parade should closely coordinate with ministries, sectors, and localities to make thorough preparations for the general rehearsal and the official event; maintain accommodation, provide healthcare for the troops, ensure hygiene and food safety; well prepare facilities and vehicles during training; and carry out political and ideological education to raise troops’ awareness and responsibility to surmount hardships and accomplish their assignments.

Concluding the event, Gen. Cuong thanked local authorities and ethnic minority groups in Dien Bien for their support during maneuvering forces and vehicles to Dien Bien Phu, affirming that all forces participating in the upcoming important political event would exert all-out efforts to successfully fulfill the mission, deserving the stature of the Dien Bien Phu Victory and the expectations of people and soldiers nationwide, and ethnic people in the Northwestern region of Vietnam.
