According to a report delivered at the event, the search and repatriation of remains of Vietnamese troops, especially those who sacrificed their lives while serving international services in Laos and Cambodia, have been carried out actively, comprehensively, and effectively by involved forces.

Relevant forces have also boosted information dissemination, double-checked and completed files on fallen troops, built maps of possible burial places, searched and repatriated remains of fallen soldiers, meeting the set targets.

The participants have also expanded international cooperation to gain more support for the search and repatriation of fallen Vietnamese troops.

However, there remain many difficulties, such as environmental changes at the burial places and the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic that have hindered the work both at home and abroad.

At the meeting, apart from sharing experiences acquired during implementing the work, relevant agencies, units and localities also made proposals to improve the efficiency of the work amid numerous challenges.

They aim to complete compiling the list of fallen soldiers soon and build a national database on fallen troops and their burial places. They will also reorganize their personnel to ensure the participants’ health and fulfill this important and significant mission.

In conclusion, General Can spoke highly of relevant forces’ efforts. He asked them to bring into full play their achievements, fix shortcomings, boost coordination, take full advantage of verified information, and contact domestic and international organizations, individuals, and veterans to get more information related to missing and fallen Vietnamese troops. General Can also urged relevant forces to complete other work relating to fallen troops.
