At the working session, Lieutenant General Nguyen Long Cang, the military region’s Commander, briefed the mission on local situations and the results of task implementation in the region over the past time.

According to the report, since the beginning of this year, Military Region 5 has strictly implemented directives, orders, and plans on combat readiness and adjusted training programs to be in line with the development of the COVID-19 pandemic. Its agencies and units have taken measures to prevent and control the pandemic, coordinated with the public security force to ensure political security and public order, and conducted defense external relations work.

Praising Military Region 5’s achievements in task accomplishment over the past few months, General Vinh asked the Party Committee and Command of the military region to foster cooperation with local leadership to carry out military and defense missions effectively. Military units in the region were requested to work with other forces to follow situational developments, so as to deal with emerging circumstances in a timely manner. 

General Vinh also asked Military Region 5 to maintain combat readiness regulations and raise the quality of training.
