At the meeting

Last year, the cooperation of the two military regions has been increasingly reinforced and developed in various fields. The two sides regularly exchanged information and undertook joint patrols, contributing to maintaining political security and social order along the shared borderline.

The two sides also collaborated in repatriating 43 sets of remains of fallen Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and addressing emerging security matters.

On the other hand, the Vietnamese military region welcomed many visiting Cambodian officers, supported the RCAF in building several facilities, and sent 80 medical personnel to provide health check-ups and free medicines for Cambodian people in flood-hit areas.

This year, the two military regions plan to enhance information dissemination for both countries’ troops and people, especially the young generation, with the aim of raising their awareness of the traditional solidarity and friendship between the two countries.

They will also continue to share information to promptly prevent any schemes sabotaging the two countries’ political security and order, respond to the natural disasters, and ensure safe land border demarcation and marker planting.
