Military medical personnel urged to bring into play their achievements
PANO - Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Minister of National Defense, on February 25 visited and congratulated the Military Medical University (MMU), and its two affiliates, Military Hospital 103 and Le Huu Trac National Institute of Burns, on the 62nd anniversary of the Vietnamese Doctors’ Day (February 27).

At MMU, Gen. Giang was reported on the unit’s outcomes in training, scientific researches, health checkups and treatment for troops and people and the good recovery of child patient Ly Chuong Binh who had a lung transplant on February 21.
Commending MMU’s achievements, Gen. Giang emphasized that the latest success of the first-ever human lung transplant conducted by MMU is an important landmark that confirms high expertise and development of military doctors, especially in organ transplant.
He asked MMU and its affiliates to bring into full play their achievements and to become red addresses in training medical personnel for the army and the country and reliable addresses among patients.

Visiting Le Huu Trac National Institute of Burns and the Postoperative-Recovery Ward under Military Hospital 103, Gen. Giang hoped that the two units’ cadres, doctors, nurses and workers would further improve their expertise, bring into play the good tradition of the military sector and hospitals, surmount difficulties to outstandingly fulfill all assigned missions.
At the Postoperative-Recovery Ward, Gen. Giang inquired after and presented gifts to patient Ly Chuong Binh and others who are waiting for organ transplants.
