Reportedly, since the beginning of the fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam, Military Hospital 175 has established field hospitals and teams to reinforce the pandemic prevention and vaccination efforts. In addition, the hospital held various training courses and exercises to equip its medical personnel with knowledge and essential skills to take care of COVID-19 patients.

Outstanding collectives in treating COVID-19 patients honored at the event

In mid-July, the hospital established and put into operation a center for treating severe and critical COVID-19 patients.  By November 15, the center had received and treated more than 2,600 patients, including elderly people, those with underlying medical conditions, foreigners, and elderly revolutionary cadres. 

During the time, the center used extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) for treating 14 patents, including pregnant women. 

In addition, the center, in collaboration with relevant agencies of Military Hospital 175, has compiled a brief treatment protocol for COVID-19 patients and conducted three researches. Together with applying new technologies to patient treatment, the center has also applied many technological innovations to raising the effectiveness of treatment of infected cases. 

More especially, in August 21, the center was tasked with providing professional assistance to seven hospitals in districts, including District 12, Go Vap and Hoc Mon districts. Sicne then, the center has hosted regular online health consultations to raise the hospitals’ diagnosis and treatment quality.

In addition, various meetings to exchange experience and expertise in treating COVID-19 cases with Japanese and U.S. experts have been regularly held. 

At the event, Military Hospital 175 honored 31 collectives and 33 individuals with outstanding achievements in treating COVID-19 patients and disseminating SARS-CoV-2-related information. On the occasion, businesses granted 170 gifts to female medical staff of the hospital in acknowledgement of their contribution to the treatment of COVID-19 cases. 

Military Hospital 175 presented flowers to instructors who have made great contribution to the hospital’s training work on the occasion of the Vietnamese Teachers’ Day.
