L2FH No.2’s personnel learn international humanitarian law
PANO - The Vietnam Peacekeeping Department and Military Medical Academy held a training course on International Humanitarian Law for personnel of the Vietnam Level-two Field Hospital (L2FH) No.2 on October 25.
The two-day course aims to broaden the Vietnamese cadres’ and staff’s peacekeeping capacity and their understanding of humanitarian activities and international law applied to UN missions.
Accordingly, experienced experts from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Hanoi will equip the staff with knowledge and essential skills to conduct humanitarian activities and share their field experiences gained while joining peacekeeping operations.
The L2FH No.2’s personnel also learned international law practiced at the UN peacekeeping missions, conflict classification and relevant laws to deal with each type of conflicts, rules of engagement, and regulations to prevent sex abuse and sex harassment while working with peacekeeping operations.
ICRC is one of the most effective partners of Vietnam in promoting legal understanding and peacekeeping capacities for the Vietnamese peacekeeping force.
