The event was attended by Lieutenant General Tran Ngoc Tuan, Political Commissar of the Hanoi Capital Command, while Senior Colonel Dao Van Nhan, Second-in-Command of the unit and Head of the Steering Committee of the exercise, chaired the event.

The exercise included nine contents via four phases, which are combat readiness shifting, preparing for the combat, tabletop content and live-fire drill.

The exercise aims to evaluate the combined training quality in 2023 of the unit, raise leadership and coordination among forces, and consolidate the potential and posture of the defensive area. Through the exercise, many important issues are clarified such as the enemy's plots, tricks, combat methods and ability to use forces and vehicles when attacking the area; characteristics, tasks, capabilities, and methods of cooperative combat; Party and political work and logistics supplies in defensive operations, among others.

At the same time, the exercise will help participating units build and finalize documents on operations, thereby promoting their leadership, meeting all task requirements of military building, defense capacity enhancement to safeguard the Fatherland in the current context.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Senior Colonel Dao Van Nhan requested that the steering committee of the exercise should strictly implement regulations of the exercise as scheduled and review the task implementation after each day of the exercise so as to map out solutions for better results.

Meanwhile, Division 301 and participating units should follow the direction of the steering committee and promote their determination during their participation in the exercise for the success of the event with absolute safety.
