An overview of the event

The GS chief required agencies and units in the whole military to strictly observe combat readiness regulations; thoroughly grasp situational developments, especially those in key areas; as well as conduct patrols to prevent illegal entry and exit in border areas, to name but a few.

Still, Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Tan Cuong required the agencies and units to comprehensively inspect military-defense work in 2023; build the Ministry of National Defense’s directives on combat readiness and activities to celebrate the lunar New Year 2024; promulgate the GS’s instructions on military-defense work in 2024.

The agencies and units should make thorough preparations for the whole military politico-military conference 2023, the conference to review the staff work of the whole military and other sectors in 2023, the establishment of Army Corps 12, and others.

The whole military was asked to grasp and strictly observe the State’s law and military discipline; and should pay more attention to firefighting, disaster prevention, incident response and search and rescue operations.

At the conference, the GS chief pointed out shortcomings that would need to be addressed in the coming time, requesting agencies and units to propose effective measures to accomplish all assignments in the time to come.
