In April 2023, the GS has ordered units in the whole military to strictly maintain combat readiness and actively grasp situation so as to be ready in any circumstances, contributing to firmly protecting national sovereignty over sea and islands, while ensuring political security and social order in the whole nation.

It also instructed military units during their training as scheduled, directed the Air Defense and Air Force Service and the Naval Service to organize training tasks as regulated with absolute safety. Troops in the whole military also implemented the search and rescue task as well as natural disaster prevention in localities.
Addressing the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong hailed military units’ achievements in April, especially troops on duty at sea and in border areas. He requested the units to focus on leadership and troops’ political stance, strictly maintain military discipline observance, and ensure absolute safety.
Regarding tasks in May, the GS chief asked units in the whole military to strictly ensure combat readiness, especially during the National Reunification Day (April 30) and International Labor Day (May 1) holidays. Besides, the Vietnam Border Guard Command, Naval Service Command, and Coast Guard Command closely work with relevant forces to grasp situation and address any cases of violations.
At the same time, units in the whole military should also actively conduct search and rescue mission and natural disaster prevention ahead this year’s rainy season. They were also requested to complete a project to research and finalize the judicial, inspection, legal, and crime prevention and control system in the military by 2030, with a vision to 2045, to meet the requirements of judicial reform and the building of a revolutionary, regular, elite, gradually-modernized military.
