The units organized training and education programs for their personnel, adhered to the content, programs, and plans. They conducted safety checks for new soldiers and ensured the provision of weapons and equipment for missions. They promptly organized forces and allocated resources to respond to natural disasters, engaged in search and rescue operations, and provided disaster relief efforts in localities.
Regarding the tasks for June 2023, the chief of the General Staff requested the entire military to maintain strict combat readiness, monitor and understand the situation, enhance patrols, control and prevent illegal border crossings, prevent foreign vessels from encroaching on Vietnamese waters, and protect the safety of Vietnam's maritime economic activities. They were also urged to intensify measures to combat illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
The General Staff is to direct agencies and units to organize training programs, ensuring compliance with the content, programs, and plans. Efforts are to be made to enhance the quality of disciplinary construction and management, conduct patrols, protect the safety of agencies and units, and maintain strict readiness for search and rescue operations at all levels. They are also advised to pro-actively grasp the situation, propose the use of forces and resources, and promptly respond to various situations.
