The GS Chief and Deputy Minister of National Defense made that request at a meeting of the Party Committee of the GS - Organ of the Ministry of National Defense on June 25 to issue the leadership resolution on the task implementation in the last six months of this year.

At the event, Gen. Cuong acknowledged and praised the Party Committee for its achievements in the first half of this year.
Regarding the second half, he emphasized the committee’s continuity of thoroughly grasping the Party’s guidelines regarding military and national defense; its instructions on strict implementation of combat readiness regulations; and close coordination to maintain political security, social order, and safety nationwide.
He urged the committee to pro-actively perform their staff role to help draft and execute resolutions, conclusions, projects, legal documents, military and defense programs and plans with high quality and to contribute to building firm defensive areas at all levels.
Gen. Cuong also asked for preparedness and pro-active dispatch of forces and vehicles for natural disaster prevention and control and search and rescue operations in a timely and effective manner.

Other tasks in the remaining time of the year include making proposals on effective implementation of the project on further restructuring local military organizations to be elite, compact, and strong; and giving advice on procurement, production, modernization, and maintenance of weapons and technical equipment to meet mission requirements.
He emphasized the need to ensure safety during training and joint rehearsals for the upcoming parade to mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. He also requested agencies and units to coordinate to complete their tasks, organize activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the GS’s foundation day, and make preparations for the Party Congress of the GS - Organ of the Ministry of National Defense for the 2025-2030 term.
