Over the past five years, Corps 12 has directly managed and executed nearly 700km of expressway construction. The reputation and brand of Truong Son have also expanded into complex, high-tech fields such as airports, seaports, inland waterways, and major bridges.

Notably, Corps 12 has consistently fulfilled its functions and tasks as the strategic reserve engineering corps of the Ministry of National Defense. It has taken the lead in carrying out unscheduled projects; and participated in search and rescue operations, and recovery efforts. For the 2025-2030 period, with a vision toward 2035, Corps 12 aims to become one of the nation’s leading infrastructure construction groups, striving to nearly triple its scale in the next five-year term compared with the previous one.

Addressing the ceremony, Gen. Giang emphasized that Corps 12, established from the forces of Truong Son troops, has been entrusted with a new mission of developing economy coupled with consolidating national defense.

The defense chief highly praised generations of the Corps 12’s troops for their promotion of their unit’s glorious tradition, quick access to market, active investment in modern equipment, and application of scientific and technological advancements to produce high-quality products. The Corps has built a strong reputation through thousands of key projects nationwide and in Laos and Cambodia.

In addition, it has effectively carried out political education, military training, and strictly observed discipline. It has regularly focused on building a healthy and strong Party organization linked with an exemplary, comprehensively strong unit; fulfilled the role of a working force; and pro-actively engaged in search and rescue operations and the reconstruction of facilities for families and communities.

On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, Gen. Giang commended and congratulated generations of officers, soldiers, staff, and workers of Corps 12 on their outstanding achievements in recent years.

To continue fulfilling future tasks, he asked the unit to effectively realize higher-level resolutions. He urged it to strengthen political and ideological education, uphold traditions, and build a strong, capable force. He emphasized the need to maintain highly efficient, safe, and lawful business and production activities. He stressed that the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense firmly believe Corps 12 will continue to exert its efforts, achieve new accomplishments, and excellently perform all assignments, deserving of being a leading enterprise of the military in transport infrastructure and capital construction.
