General Staff works with Coast Guard Region 2 Command
PANO - A delegation from the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, led by its Deputy Chief, Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, worked with the Coast Guard Region 2 Command on October 8.
At the meeting, the Command’s chief, Major General Dao Hong Nghiep briefed the delegation on the unit’s task performance. Accordingly, since the beginning of this year, the command has accomplished all assigned missions, especially in the areas of drug-trafficking, drug crime, and trade fraud prevention and control. The command contributed more than VND 2.13 billion to the State budget, which was collected from the judicial sale of seized vehicles related to trade fraud and fuel smuggling.
After checking ships CSB 4032 and CSB 8002 of Naval Unit 21 and listening to reports by the command’s leadership, General Tan acknowledged and highly valued the unit’s achievements.
General Tan requested the command’s Party Committee and chain-of-command to continue to follow closely any developments at sea and deal with arising situations in a timely manner.
They should also renovate information dissemination methods and contents and promote education on maritime law while paying due attention to search and rescue at sea, regularity building, and improvement of the troops’ living standards.
