General Staff gathers its former leaders living in the South
PANO – The General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army held a meeting with its former leaders living in the South on August 29th in Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of its traditional day.
Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister, chaired the event.

At the meeting, the veterans recalled the glorious tradition and achievements of the General Staff over the past years. Accordingly, the unit has always fulfilled its assigned missions, particularly in giving advice to higher level authorities and managing combat readiness, military training and force building, contributing to the national construction and defense cause.
Speaking at the event, General Giang highlighted the heroic tradition of the General Staff during the resistance war for national liberation as well as its great achievements in contribution to the development of the military. He also stressed that the unit should pay more attention to uphold its training quality and combat readiness, provide timely recommendations to higher levels on relevant issues, and promote defense external affairs, contributing to firmly protecting the country and creating a stable environment for national economic development.
