General Staff’s Deputy Chief inspects Battalion 1’s combat readiness training
PANO – A mission of the General Staff, led by its Deputy Chief Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, inspected Battalion 1’s combat readiness training on May 9.
Battalion 1 under Brigade 144, the General Staff, is tasked to ensure security at the Headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense and organize combat readiness training and fire prevention and control.
Since the beginning of this year, the unit has embraced and strictly carried out directives and documents on military and defense missions in 2022 and combat readiness. It has regularly updated and practiced training plans and completed the personnel organization of combat readiness guard squads.

Concluding the inspection, Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan acknowledged and praised the units for its outstanding achievements in training and combat readiness observance over the past time. He also pointed out its shortcomings in carrying out the tasks, ensuring troops’ life, and managing troops’ thoughts.
The deputy chief asked Battalion 1 to strictly maintain combat readiness, especially during SEA Games 31, festivals, and important political events of the country. He also urged the unit to pay attention to embracing troops’ thoughts, strictly observe pandemic prevention and control, and take measures to protect troops’ health in summer.
