Having heard reports and speeches, Gen. Cuong praised agencies and units for their activeness, pro-activeness, and determination in implementing various tasks. Under the direction of the General Staff, the whole military has closely followed the situation and strictly observed combat readiness regulations. Agencies and units have provided strategic advice to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to promptly and effectively handle circumstances in a timely manner, contributing to firmly protecting sovereignty and territory. The General Staff has also directed units and forces to organize training, education, drills, competitions, and military sports events for troops as planned; rehearse in preparation for the parade to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, and ensure safety.

Together with carrying out the adjustment of force organization and ensuring weapons and equipment supplies, agencies and units have mobilized forces and vehicles to respond to natural disasters, conduct search and rescue missions at localities, and collaborate with functional forces to ensure security and safety at important events of the nation.

Regarding missions in the coming time, Gen. Cuong asked leaders of the General Staff and agencies to supervise the whole military’s observance of combat readiness; pro-actively follow the development of situations in key localities, border areas, in the air, and at sea; direct agencies and units in the military to continue to organize training, exercises, and competitions. He urged the General Staff and agencies to direct forces to make thorough preparations for the parade to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory; submit the plan on organizing a parade in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification to the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission; continue to complete the plan on a parade to mark the 80th anniversary of the National Day; make thorough preparations for the upcoming shooting festival in 2024 and military volleyball tournament.

The Chief of the General Staff requested agencies and units to effectively implement search and rescue missions; actively grasp the situation to make timely and effective recommendations; carry out defense diplomacy activities, international cooperation, and U.N. peacekeeping.
