While visiting islands and the platform, the delegation checked units’ training and their observance of combat readiness; troops’ thoughts and determination to fulfill assigned missions; logistical and technical supplies. On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, Gen. Anh acknowledged and praised troops on islands and DK1/16 for overcoming difficulties and hardships and upholding solidarity to well fulfill assigned missions, contributing to firmly safeguarding the national sovereignty over sea and islands and continental shelf of the nation.

Paying tribute to fallen soldiers

The head of the delegation pointed out shortcomings in task implementation and asked officers and soldiers on islands to take measures to address them. He also laid stress on contents that they should pay attention to in the future.

The visit of the General Staff’s delegation was an important and significant activity to encourage troops and people on islands in the Truong Sa Archipelago and those on the DK1/16 platform to maintain their political stance, pro-actively overcome difficulties, foster unity, and successfully fulfill the tasks entrusted by the Party, State, military, and people.
