Speaking on behalf of the province’s N.A. deputies, General Nguyen Tan Cuong briefed voters on the outcomes of the first session of the 16th N.A. He said that the session was held in a democratic and highly responsible atmosphere marked by unity and innovation. During the session, the N.A. passed nine laws and 31 resolutions, while approving key State and N.A. leadership positions with overwhelming support.

According to General Nguyen Tan Cuong, the newly-adopted laws and resolutions cover a wide range of areas, including socio-economic development, human rights, public administration, finance, taxation, land, environment, and investment. These measures contribute to improving the legal framework, addressing major national issues, and strengthening the State apparatus, laying a solid foundation for the new term and the country’s next stage of development.

Congratulating Dong Thap province on its recent achievements, General Nguyen Tan Cuong urged local authorities to review and adjust growth plans while maintaining development targets and strengthening implementation, supervision, and inspection efforts. He emphasized the need to effectively carry out the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, along with strategic resolutions of the Politburo and Conclusion No.18 issued on April 2, 2026, by the second plenum of the 14th Party Central Committee on socio-economic development and national financial planning.

At the same time, Dong Thap should continue strengthening national defense and security while maintaining political stability and social order.
