Sr. Col. Pham Van Thang, Second-in-Command of the provincial Military Command and Commander of the An Giang provincial Border Guard Command, briefs General Pham Van Tra on the unit’s situation.

On behalf of the unit’s personnel, Col. Thang briefed General Pham Van Tra on the implementation of tasks regarding the management and protection of national border sovereignty, crime prevention and combat, the building of an all-people border defense, and social welfare support for border residents over the past time.

At the same time, he expressed deep emotion at the general’s attention, considering it a great source of encouragement for the unit to resolutely fulfill all assigned tasks, worthy of the glorious tradition of the Vietnam People’s Army and the Vietnam Border Guard.

In an intimate atmosphere, General Pham Van Tra recalled the heroic combat years of the Vietnam People’s Army through the national resistance wars against foreign invaders. The general shared unforgettable memories of the courageous fighting spirit of officers and soldiers on battlefields, fierce battles, and sacrifices made in exchange for today’s peace and independence.

General Pham Van Tra expressed his joy at the outstanding results achieved by An Giang province’s border guards recently, especially in border management and protection, crime prevention, and the building of a solid whole-people border defense posture.

Facing task requirements in the new situation, General Pham Van Tra urged the An Giang provincial Border Guard Command to continue strictly grasping and implementing the resolutions and directives of higher levels. He also suggested the unit to pro-actively grasp all situations early and from afar, and coordinate closely with other forces to firmly protect territorial sovereignty while maintaining political security and social order in the Fatherland’s Southwestern border area, sea, and islands.
