In his remarks, Gen. Phan Van Giang applauded the outstanding achievements obtained by the ADAF Service over the past time, requiring that in any circumstances, the service should maintain high combat readiness posture and firmly safeguard the national airspace, while pro-actively doing research on recent wars and military conflicts in the world to give timely recommendations to the CMC and Ministry of National Defense (MND) and take effective measures to raise the quality of training and combat readiness.

Also the service should strictly implement the adjustment of force organization, meeting the requirements of building an elite, compact, and strong service; strive to complete the goal of basically building an elite, compact, and strong service by 2025; and merge agencies, units, and factories as planned.

The service should pay attention to improving the quality of training and education; organizing flight training and ensuring flight safety to raise air force troops’ capabilities; promoting training activities to master troops’ skills in using new technical equipment and celebrate the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024 and the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.

The defense minister noted that the ADAF Service should further speed up the building, renovation, and upgrade of airports and implement projects on purchasing and repairing different types of weapons and equipment as planned, while strictly implementing the directives, circulars, and regulations of the MND and the service on building a comprehensively-strong, “typical and exemplary” unit and raising troops’ awareness, responsibility, and political stance.
