During the ceremony, the army corps’ Commander Major General Nguyen Ba Luc recalled the heroic traditions of Army Corps 3, while paying tribute to the unit’s fallen soldiers and highlighting their contributions to the cause of national liberation and defense.

Army Corps 3, founded on March 26, 1975, achieved many outstanding victories during the national resistance wars, making contributions to the Liberation of the South and National Reunification and national protection. The unit has been honored with the title Hero of the People’s Armed Forces, three Ho Chi Minh Orders, and other prestigious awards.

Addressing the ceremony, General Vinh acknowledged the achievements of the Army Corps and asked the troops to promote its traditions, foster solidarity, while implementing the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies and laws on military and defense, among others.

During the ceremony, Deputy Defense Minister Le Huy Vinh, on behalf of the State President, awarded the title Hero of the People’s Armed Forces to six families of former officers and soldiers of Army Corps 3 and 4.
