The exhibition is held as part of activities in celebration the 70th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Navy (May 7, 1955 - 2025), the 50th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - 2025), and the Congress of the Naval Region 3 Party Organization for the 2025-2030 term.

Various photos, documents and artifacts on display feature the position, role, and significance of the national sea and islands in the economic development, national defense and security assurance; affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos; contributing to highlighting the heroic traditions and feats-of-arm of the Vietnam People’s Navy in the resistance war against the U.S. imperialists for national salvation and the international mission in Cambodia (1955-1989); the building of a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern Vietnam People’s Navy, and defense external affairs.

In his opening speech, Sr. Cap. Pham Dinh Thanh stressed that over the past years, Naval Region 3 has effectively coordinated with localities to organize various information dissemination programs on the national sovereignty over sea and islands to help officers, soldiers, and local people have a better understanding of the 70-year development of the Vietnam People's Navy.

The exhibition also contributed to raising troops and people’s awareness of and responsibility for the task of safeguarding the national sovereignty over sea and islands.

The exhibition took place on March 23-24.
