In August, the General Staff has directed agencies and units in the entire military to successfully accomplish their assigned tasks. Accordingly, combat readiness posture has been strictly observed; situational developments closely monitored; advice and responses provided in a timely and effective manner.

In addition, military agencies and units have closely coordinated with relevant forces to maintain national security and social order; ensure safety for activities of Party and State leaders, and the National Day celebrations.

Notably, the General Staff has directed forces in training, maneuverability, joint rehearsals, and state-level preliminary rehearsal for the upcoming grand parade at Ba Dinh Square on September 2, ensuring safety and discipline. Forces and vehicles have been mobilized to perform disaster relief and search and rescue missions.

In his speech, Gen. Cuong praised agencies and units for their efforts and task fulfilment. He urged the entire military to continue to strictly maintain combat readiness duties; grasp situations, especially in key areas, to provide timely and effective advice and responses. They were also requested to coordinate with other forces to uphold local security and order, strengthen patrols and controls in border areas, prevent illegal border crossings and acts of sabotage of hostile forces, among others.

He asked for quality and safe organization of the grand parade to celebrate Vietnam’s 80th National Day, units’ strict maintenance of discipline, regularity, and traffic safety assurance; and solemn opening ceremonies of new academic year at military academies and schools.

The chief of the General Staff also laid stress on close attention to developments of natural disasters to come up with timely and effective response plans.
