General Ngo Xuan Lich meets voters in Ha Nam
PANO - General Ngo Xuan Lich, Politburo member, Vice Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Defense Minister, joined Ha Nam provincial deputies of the 14th National Assembly (NA) to meet voters in Hoa Mac townlet, Duy Tien district, Ha Nam province.
At the meeting on October 1, the deputies informed the voters of the socio-economic and military-defense situations of the country in general and of Ha Nam province in particular. The voters were also briefed on important information that will be debated and approved at the eighth meeting of the 14th NA scheduled from October 21 to November 21.
Reportedly, the national economy has developed positively with a stable macro-economy and inflation being controlled at a low percent. The social welfare policies have also been ensured. The military-defense posture has been strengthened while the local people’s living standards have been improved. Furthermore, the Vietnamese people have shown their absolute belief in the leadership of the Party, the governance of the Government and in the Party’s and State’s fight against corruption and wastefulness.

Voters expressed their delights at and belief in the country’s achievements and hoped that the Party, State, local Party Committee and authorities will continue to direct the local socio-economic development in couple with military-defense guarantee, environmental protection, anti-corruption, preservation and promotion of cultural values, improvement of social ethics and implementation of policies and regulations related to policy beneficiaries and national contributors.
Regarding voters’ concerns about and petitions on the degradation of social ethics, wastefulness in public investment, and shortcomings of the educational sector, the Ha Nam provincial NA deputies promised to report them to the NA’s coming session.
On the occasion, General Lich handed over 200 gifts, each worth VND 5.5 million, and VND 1.2 billion in cash to build 15 gratitude houses for local policy beneficiary families and victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in need. The money to build houses was from the Ministry of National Defense’s Gratitude Fund.
