In 2024, despite the impacts of the global economy, Saigon New Port Corporation successfully completed its production and business targets 40 days ahead of schedule, with a total container throughput of 10.81 million TEUs (a 10.1% increase compared to 2023), equivalent to nearly 160 million tons of goods. The market share of container import and export through the corporation’s ports reached 55.2% of the national total.

Saigon New Port Corporation also made significant contributions to society and the community, with nearly VND 100 billion allocated to mass mobilization activities and the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, helping strengthen public trust in the Party and State.
The Party organizations under Saigon Military Port’s Party Organization strictly implemented the organization of Party meetings and the management and education of outstanding youths to be admitted to Party. The ideological situation of officials, Party members, workers, and employees remained stable. The preparation for the Party congresses at all levels was synchronously carried out.

Speaking at the working session, General Quyet lauded Saigon Military Port for the obtained results over the past time. He emphasized that 2025 is a crucial year since it will determine the fulfillment of the targets set by the Party congresses for the 2020-2025 term and witness the strict implementation of the Party’s Resolution 18 on streamlining the political apparatus for effective operations. Party congresses at all levels will take place this year, leading up to the 14th National Party Congress.

The GDP’s Chief requested that the Standing Board of Saigon Military Port’s Party Committee to lead and direct the preparation for the Party congresses at all levels within the Saigon Military Port Party Organization, ensuring that the selected officials meet the required standards and quality, contributing to enhancing the leadership capacity and combat strength of Party organizations. He added that Party congresses’ reports must be clear in objectives and solutions, and practical and feasible. He said that after the congress, the corporation and its affiliates must achieve breakthroughs in Party building and business operations.

In addition, the leadership over its affiliates’ participation in social activities and support to localities’ hunger elimination, poverty reduction, and political security maintenance should be strengthened. The corporation should pay attention to fostering the relationship with local party committees, authorities, and people, contributing to embellishing the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in the new period.
