During the visit, the PAN’s Deputy Editor-in-Chief Senior Colonel Tran Anh Tuan and head of the PAN’s Bureau in the South Senior Colonel Phan Tung Son briefed the GDP’s Chief and the delegation on key results in journalism task performance in recent times and the outcomes of activities commemorating the 75th anniversary of the PAN’s Foundation Day, as well as preparations toward the 50th anniversary of the foundation day of the bureau (April 18, 1977 – 2027).

General Nghia acknowledged and highly appreciated the PAN’s status within Vietnam’s revolutionary press, as well as the important role and position of its representative office in Ho Chi Minh City. Building on its long-standing traditions and achieved results, he expressed confidence that the PAN and its representative office in Ho Chi Minh City will continue to grow and maintain the identity of a soldiers’ newspaper in the new era.
The GDP’s Chief encouraged and reminded the staff and reporters to remain steadfast in political ideology, master professional skills, keep pace with modern technology, and enhance the quality of journalistic works to meet the requirements and missions of communication in the new context, thereby contributing to further development of the PAN and upholding the trust and expectations of the Party, State, military, and the people.
Later the same afternoon, the GDP’s Chief and the working delegation visited and worked with agencies and units under the GDP in Ho Chi Minh City, including the Bureaus of the Military Broadcasting Center, the People’s Army Publishing House, the National Defense Journal, the Military Arts and Literature Magazine; Military Printing Company No.2; HACOTA One-Member Limited Company; Mission 34 under the Military Security Protection Department; the Military University of Culture and Arts; and the Southern branch of the Military Theater.
Earlier, in the morning of the same day, General Nguyen Trong Nghia attended the Great National Unity Festival in Phu Nhon Residential Area in Long An ward, Tay Ninh province, during which he handed over gifts from the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to poor and near-poor families.
