PAN joins hands to support flood-hit people in Cao Bang
PANO – On October 11, a delegation from the People’s Army Newspaper (PAN) visited Hoa An and Nguyen Hue communes in Cao Bang province and presented relief aid worth VND 100 million (VND 50 million for each commune). These are among the localities hit hardest by the recent floods.
In early October, Cao Bang province suffered two consecutive historic floods caused by the circulations of Typhoons Bualoi and Matmo (Storms No.10 and No.11), resulting in severe damage to people’s lives and property.

According to initial statistics, all 31 hamlets of Nguyen Hue commune were affected; one house collapsed completely, 21 others were damaged, and 28 households were evacuated urgently. About 122 hectares of crops were submerged or flattened, and several roads were seriously eroded, causing an estimated loss of VND 3.5 billion. In Hoa An commune, floods inundated 650 houses, damaged 314 hectares of crops and fish ponds, and caused landslides at 11 households. The commune’s traffic and irrigation infrastructure was severely affected, with more than 2,000 cubic meters of soil and concrete eroded, resulting in an estimated loss of over VND 40 billion.
