At the opening of the event, GDP Deputy Director Senior Lieutenant General Do Can delivered a report to review the implementation of the Party and political work in 2022 and orientations for 2023.

According to the report, this year, the General Department of Political Affairs has directed units and agencies in the whole military to effectively and comprehensively implement the Party and political work with remarkable results.

Attentively, units have focused on implementing solutions to improve the quality of political and ideological education, information dissemination for troops, and embraced their thoughts while fighting against wrongful and hostile views and protecting the Party’s ideological foundation.

The whole military has seriously embraced and realized resolutions and directives of the Party, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense. In addition, the organs have accelerated the movement “Studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, lifestyle” in combination with the campaign “promoting tradition, devoting talent, deserving to be Uncle Ho’s soldiers” in the new situation, as well as upheld its advisory role to draw up plans to celebrate the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 35th anniversary of the All-People's Defense Festive Day.

The GDP organs successfully organized significant events, competitions, and operational exercises in cyberspace, as well as actively conducted dissemination of military-defense mission performance, defense external affairs, and examples of “Good people, good deeds.” The work to enhance the leadership capacity and combat strength of Party committees and organizations has been effectively implemented using suitable forms and methods.

Meanwhile, units and agencies have strengthened inspection to prevent and strictly handle violations in the spirit of “no forbidden zones,” contributing to building a typical strong and healthy Party organization. The Party and political work in mass mobilization has been comprehensively renewed and implemented, tightening the military-civilian solidarity, and building a firm “posture of people's hearts and minds.”

Also the GDP organs have carried out policies for troops and their families and numerous gratitude activities for national contributors and promoted the search and collection of remains of martyrs, among others.

In his concluding speech, General Luong Cuong acknowledged and praised the outstanding outcomes gained by the GDP in the Party and political work in 2022.

Noting that 2023 is an important year that the whole military will realize resolutions and directives of the 13th National Party Congress and 11th Military Party Congress, the GDP Director urged agencies and units to continue embracing higher levels’ instructions and regulations, especially on the military’s Party building to accomplish missions set in the next year and achieve better results than this year.

The conference mapped out orientations and key tasks in 2023. In detail, leaders should pay more attention to increasing the quality of political and ideological education to build a firm political stance, solidarity, and unity for troops.

Information dissemination work should be boosted to safeguard the Party’s ideological foundation. GDP affiliates should push the “Determined-to-Win” emulation movement, cultural, artistic, and literary activities to build a healthy cultural environment.

Meanwhile, the GDP organs should actively give recommendations to higher levels to effectively implement policies for troops and their families and conduct gratitude activities and the search and collection of martyrs’ remains.

Finally, General Luong Cuong required units and agencies to focus on building a typical strong and healthy Party organization coupled with building a typical exemplary comprehensively-strong units.
