General Quyet took the occasion to inform the former military leaders about the achievements of the whole military in 2023. Accordingly, the Central Military Commission (CMC) and the Ministry of National Defense (MND) directed the whole military to comprehensively fulfill their assigned tasks, grasped the situation and made recommendations to the Party and State so as to be ready in any circumstances. Besides, units in the whole military also strictly ensured combat readiness posture.

On the occasion of the lunar New Year (Tet) festival 2024, General Quyet presented the CMC and the MND’s gifts to General Ngo Xuan Lich and Senior Lieutenant General Pham Thanh Ngan, wishing them good health and hoping that they would make further contribution to the building of the VPA.

For their parts, General Ngo Xuan Lich and Senior Lieutenant General Pham Thanh Ngan were delighted at the care of the MND and GDP leaders, believing that troops in the whole military would continue to promote the traditions of the Uncle Ho’s soldiers, and accomplish all assigned missions.

* On the same day, the GDP held a conference to make preparations for the review of the five-year implementation of Party building work in the 2021-2025 period and 15-year implementation of Party Charter in the 2011-2025 period. The GDP’s Deputy Chief Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet chaired the event.

Affirming the importance of the two reports for the upcoming conferences, General Quyet asked functional units to promote their responsibility during task implementation, make the reports close to the theoretical and practical situations over the past time and map out measures in line with current context.

* On January 30, Deputy Chief of the VPA’s General Staff (GS) Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh inspected the observance of combat readiness regulation, training work, and military discipline, and the organization of the Tet festival at Depots K897 and K896 under the Department of Weapons and Ammunition under the General Department of Technical Services, and Regiment 48 under Division 320, Army Corps 3.

During the inspection, General Anh hailed and highly appreciated the units’ achievements, while requesting them to seriously implement directives and orders of higher levels, build combat readiness plans as regulated, work with local authorities and forces stationed in the areas to thoroughly grasp the situation. In addition, the units should also make good preparations for training and Party and political work, organize a happy and safe Tet for troops, and take care of policy beneficiaries and poor households and needy troops.

* The MND’s delegation, led by the GS’s Deputy Chief Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, inspected the combat readiness status for Tet holiday and offered gifts to Commando Brigade 113 under the Commando Corps.

Being briefed upon the unit’s task performance in 2023, combat readiness plans in 2024, the organization of Tet festival 2024, and the preparation for the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024, General Tan hailed the brigade’s achievements over the past time.

The GS leader asked the Commando Corps to continue to direct its affiliated units to finalize combat readiness plans, especially working with local authorities and other forces to address any arising issues during Tet holiday 2024. Furthermore, the unit should ensure combat readiness, take care of troops and their homefront, organize a happy and safe Tet for troops, to name but a few.

General Tan took the occasion to send Tet greetings to commando troops, wishing them good health and happiness so as to accomplish all assigned tasks.

* GDP’s Deputy Chief Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, on January 30, met with GDP’s affiliated units in Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of Tet festival 2024. During the meeting, General Minh was briefed upon the units’ task performance in 2024, combat readiness work, and the preparation for the Tet holiday.

The GDP leader acknowledged and hailed the troops’ great efforts and achievements in 2023, and informed them about situations in the nation and the world, the implementation of military and defense tasks in 2023.

He requested the units to promote solidarity, ensure personnel work, and strictly implement all directives on combat readiness work before, during and after Tet. He also presented GDP’s Tet gifts and extended Tet greetings to the troops.
