GDP assigns tasks to officers to be trained in UK
PANO – The General Department of Politics (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) on June 15 held a ceremony to assign tasks to senior cadres of the VPA to be trained in the UK. Major General Le Duc Manh, Deputy-Director of the GDP’s Department of Personnel, chaired the event.
Addressing the meeting, General Manh affirmed the importance of training overseas, which helps cadres improve professionalism to serve the military and the nation. He also asked all trainees to raise their responsibility and overcome adversity to acquire and apply acquired knowledge to fulfilling their assigned tasks.

In addition, the cadres should strictly follow the Party's guidelines and State's policies, military regulations and the UK law while promoting the beautiful image of the nation and enhancing the friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
Accordingly, 20 officers will take part in a short-term course on “National Security and Defense Policy” at the University of London's School of Law from June 18 to 26.

Major General Nguyen Duc Can, Deputy-Director of the Department of Operations under the the General Staff of the VPA, on behalf of the delegation, pledged to make full use of the course to acquire an understanding of the security and defense policies of the UK so that they could effectively apply what they learn to their work afterwards.
