GDP assigns tasks for officers to be trained overseas
PANO - The General Department of Politics (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) held a ceremony to assign tasks for senior cadres of the VPA to be trained in Australia on July 28 at Unit 871.

Accordingly, 17 officers will take part in a short-term course on “National Security and Defense Policy” at the RMIT University, Australia, from July 29 to August 10, as part of Project 165 of the Organization Commission of the Party Central Committee.
Addressing the event, Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, the GDP’s Deputy Director, affirmed the importance of training the contingent of cadres and emphasized that “together with improving training quality at military schools, we have expanded overseas training for cadres and considered it one of the solutions to raise professionalism of the cadres to meet the demands of building a revolutionary, regular, elite and gradually modern army".
Gen. Nghia also said that the training course in Australia will give the trainees a chance to study and promote external relations activities for solidarity, trust and mutual understanding between Vietnam and Australia.
